ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
A Ziegenfelder Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for:
- Maintaining food safety and quality systems, programs, and documentation.
- Assisting with QA department tasks including mix making, CIP, equipment cleaning, product quality testing/sampling, completion of the master sanitation schedule tasks, etc.
- Actively participate in facility discussions providing food safety and quality call outs.
- Developing and maintaining qualified personnel within the QA department. This involves organizational development, personnel assessment, training, direction, motivation, and scheduling.
- Serving as the SQF Practitioner and PCQI for plant location.
- Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.
- Ensuring that managers, supervisors, and process owners maintain their responsibilities of the food safety and quality management system at the facility.
- Managing the performance of microbiological and chemistry related testing as it relates to product requirements.
- Managing the food safety plan and supporting programs.
- Coordinating all documentation to ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and Ziegenfelder directives, policies and procedures.
- Managing internal lab functions including microbial samples, document completion & control, comparing internal laboratory results with outside laboratory results, and daily product release / hold management.
- Providing leadership and training guidance in Quality Assurance and Food Safety and partnering with operations managers and supervisors to implement change and quality improvement.
- Verifying finished product meets quality standards.
- Oversee the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the SQF System, including food safety fundamentals and the food safety plan.
- Hands on work with QA team to ensure timetables for deliverables are met.
