DescriptionFloating Executive DirectorLocation: Wallick Senior Living Communities The Floating Executive Director has oversight and accountability for the operations of the community while the Executive Director role is vacant. The Floating Executive Director leads a team of direct reports who are responsible for care, leasing, property maintenance, customer service, and family and resident satisfaction while the search for a permanent ED is taking place.
This role carries full operational authority while serving as Interim Executive Director, including budget approvals, staffing decisions, and regulatory compliance oversight.
Performance will be evaluated based on key metrics such as occupancy rates, resident satisfaction, staff retention, and compliance outcomes.
The Floating Executive Director will also assist in the opening of new communities.
The Floating Executive Director leads by example, develops and fosters a diverse, inclusive, and engaging place to work and live. The leader will be accountable for absolute excellence within the community.
What You'll Do Functions and Responsibilities:
- The Floating Executive Director will function as an Interim Executive Director based on business needs identified by Wallick, including serving in the ED role during new community openings to support the startup process.
- Provide temporary or extended leadership support during transitions such as vacancies, vacations, or leaves of absence.
- Support onboarding and integration of new Executive Directors.
- Mentor and coach new or developing Executive Directors to build leadership capacity across communities.
- Must be willing to Floating up to 100% of the time based on organizational need, with typical assignments ranging from 2 to 6 weeks across multiple regions. Floating expenses are reimbursed per company policy.
- Collaborate closely with Vice President of Operations to support high-priority initiatives and special projects.
- Take on multifaceted responsibilities, including oversight of teams, staff training, regulatory compliance, and direct support to community operations when necessary.
- Champion operational excellence by driving performance in areas such as resident satisfaction, team engagement, occupancy, and overall culture, in alignment with Wallick's core values and strategic goals.
- When not serving in an Interim ED capacity, this individual will be assigned to communities requiring strategic operational support-particularly those facing financial or performance challenges.
- Ensure consistent implementation and monitoring of Wallick's tools, systems, and compliance standards across assigned communities.
- Oversee all activities related to providing quality service to residents to include maintaining the facility, providing excellent food service, engaging activities, and a caring nursing staff.
- Utilize company systems including EHR, CRM, and budgeting platforms to ensure operational consistency and data-driven decision making.
- Ensure all resident relations issues are addressed promptly and satisfactorily by maintaining a strong line of communication with residents and their families, and outside partners.
- Actively promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring, resident engagement, and community culture.
What We're Looking For - Must be a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator OR at least one of the following:
- 3,000 hours of direct operational responsibility for a senior housing facility, health care facility, residential care facility, adult care facility or group home licensed by the state
- 100 credit hours of post high school education in the field of gerontology or health care
- Has a bachelor's degree
- Is a licensed health care professional (Occupational or Physical Therapist, Physician, Physician's Assistant, RN or LPN, Social Worker, etc. Full list here: https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-administrative-code/rule-3701-17-07.1 )
- You bring a minimum 5 years of previous experience as an Executive Director, leading an assisted living, memory care, or skilled nursing community.
- You have proven experience implementing and fostering a culture of operational excellence within the community.
- You lead successful teams and deliver results that create great communities for our Seniors.
