First Line Leader - Finished Products

Pay Rate:

$104,000 - $127,000

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

Salaried Exempt Full-Time (12 Hour Rotating Shift)

The Job You Will Perform:

The Finished Products First Line Leader is responsible for the management, coordination, and direction of a crew in the Finished Products department.

  • Safety: Lead and manage safety, ensuring that all safety and housekeeping goals are accomplished. Support the EHS coordinators and Safety Captains, drive safety with the crew, and assist in conducting incident investigations, safety observations, and inspections.
  • People: Responsible for making sure that all members understand what is expected of them, conducting one-to-ones, and holding members accountable for those expectations.
  • Operations: Manage daily shift operations with a focus on continuous improvement, support routine and annual outages and responsible for meeting and exceeding established production and quality goals.
  • Communication: Demonstrate the ability to effectively interact with all operating departments and all levels of mill management and ensure the timely and accurate communication of information to and from all levels. Demonstrate good listening and communication skills. Attend and participate in all FLL meetings

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Demonstrate good listening and communication skills.

  7. Outage Execution
  8. Weekend Duty
  9. Training/Onboarding new FLL's
  10. Capital Projects/IPCC
  11. Audit and Adherence for all departmental processes
  12. Complete the FLL Proficient curriculum within two years of assignment.
  13. Work Overtime where necessary to accommodate departmental needs including, but not limited to, support of 8 Week Scheduled Outages and Annual Outage Execution


The Skills You Will Bring:

Qualified candidates must possess a solid understanding of the Finished Products Area and a thorough knowledge of all Finished Products Department processes. This includes key understandings of the critical parameters that impact safety, environmental, costs, quality, and customers. Candidates must also possess a clear ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks, an understanding of team concepts, a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, as well as an established skill to execute work based on standards and procedures. Qualified candidates must have a demonstrated ability to enforce accountability.

Front line leader candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience on the paper machine at the Group II - Operator level or higher OR an engineering degree and 2 years of relevant experience. Candidates must also be a member in good standing to be considered for this position.
