The development process will involve participating in design discussions, brainstorming novel approaches to the hardest problems in robotics, and implementing new product concepts and features. Testing efforts will involve writing automated tests to validate newly created features or conducting live testing to debug and root cause issues. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in computer science or other related discipline - 3+ years of development experience within an embedded environment. This must include hands-on experience design, developing, and debugging production quality products - Familiar with building solutions that scale - Has a mature understanding for how product development occurs, including being able to make complex business/risk trade-off recommendations and decisions - Demonstrable experience with Linux and C, and preferably experience with other RTOS systems as well - Experience with image and visual processing or work with sensing devices such as cameras, radars, lidars PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Can work proactively and independently, meet deadlines, and deliver on projects and tasks - Hands-on knowledge of developing a product to be certified to the 61508 industrial safety standards or some other similar standards such as medical, automotive, or avionic - Technical knowledge in at least one system of: wireless, networking, or electro-mechanical control systems - Experience in generating automated metrics to measure quality and/or product effectiveness and consistency - Excellent leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills with a high level of attention to detail - Excellent written communication skills, with a focus on clarity and translating technically complex issues into simple, easy to understand concepts The base salary range for this position is listed below.
