Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Fire science, occupational health & safety nor related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 10 years Fire Safety, Fire Sciences or related field to include at least 5 years basic firefighting experience and experience with 3rd party agencies and vendors.

Position Purpose:

Direct activities and personnel that are involved in fire safety equipment and fire safety systems at all Savannah facilities while acting as Consultant to all other Gulfstream facilities on fire safety issues. Inspect, maintain, and ensure operability of all fire systems, alarms and safety equipment as directed by GAC policy, OSHA regulations and NFPA, National Fire Protection Association, Administrative Codes and Loss Prevention Recommendations by the Insurance Carriers. Ensure all fire detection and alarm systems are operational and accessible as directed by federal, local, and corporate standards. Plan, implement and coordinate fire system programs to eliminate and minimize structural damage from accidental discharge causing financial loss. Partner with management to mitigate/reduce industrial property damage, and property loss. Monitor compliance programs to conform to corporate and regulatory standards and ensure employees are operating in a safe manner as directed by these standards.
