Join Our Team as a Finishing Site Superintendent!

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for delivering exceptional results? We're seeking a Finishing Site Superintendent to play a pivotal role in bringing our construction projects to completion. In this key position, you will spearhead the management of pre-occupancy tasks, ensuring homes are ready for customer walkthroughs and possessions.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Finishing Site Superintendent, you will be responsible for the following items:
  • Deliver projects within budget, ensuring accurate documentation and communication of financial changes.
  • Review trade progress and participate in invoicing reviews.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and document and assess charge backs as they occur on site.
  • Mitigate costs and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Manage job-specific schedules, trades, and construction to ensure compliance with build times, building codes, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor schedule milestones and assist in creating and supplying Weekly Progress Goals and Accomplishment Reports.
  • Recognize constraints due to site logistics and ensure enforcement of company and project policies.
  • Maintain positive communication with customers, trade and supply partners, and internal staff.
  • Coordinate, manage, and communicate with subcontractors, addressing issues such as delivery, labor, and schedule.
  • Complete Daily Reports and log coordinating phone calls with trades and consultants.
  • Act as the main point of contact for site security, building monitoring, and emergencies.
  • Assist in maintaining 90% customer satisfaction.
  • Report deficiencies on Certificates of Possession honestly.
  • Monitor and ensure correct completion of customer upgrades.
  • Coordinate Elevator "Move In" Schedule for owner possessions.
  • Conduct Pre and Possession Walks with new owners.
  • Co-operate fully to ensure job completion.
  • Review contract drawings and specifications, ensuring the building is constructed accordingly.
  • Create and control quality control schedules for day-to-day monitoring of site activities.
  • Ensure adherence to Logel Homes Quality Control Program.
  • Ensure trades are engaged and accountable to their Contracts and Scope of Work.
  • Assist in the completion of seasonal items promptly.
  • Supervise and coordinate trade activities throughout the project, ensuring project goals are achieved.
  • Organize and complete required inspections with City and Consultants.
  • Ensure safe practices are used by all employees and trades on sites.
  • Consistently display, through example, behaviors aligned with Logel Homes Safety Policy.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, understanding and implementing OH&S safety requirements.


Skills & Abilities:

To excel in this role, you should possess:
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in the multi-family construction industry.
  • Completion of Technical School is considered an asset.
  • Proficient conflict resolution and customer service skills
  • High degree of construction knowledge, processes, building codes, and safety codes including design process, trade methodology, trade demarcation, and prevailing conditions.
  • In-depth understanding of multi-family wood frame construction.
  • An understanding of the Alberta Building Code.
  • General understanding of drawings - including Structural, Mechanical and Electrical.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, develop, and motivate others.
  • Ability to take direction and mentorship from those above you.
  • Ability to negotiate with clients, contractors, and vendors.
  • Understanding of when situations should be escalated to appropriate members of management.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team or independently.
  • Ability to consistently meet changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve through issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Strong ability to develop interpersonal relationships with internal staff and external trades/suppliers.


Specialized Education:
  • Gold Seal Certifications
  • Microsoft Project Certification is an asset
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.);
