Full Job Description

The Valuation Services Manager will play a highly visible role on RSM’s Valuation Services consulting team, taking primary responsibility for complex business valuation engagements across financial reporting, tax reporting, transactions, strategic planning, and other advisory purposes. This position is designed for an experienced valuation professional who can lead multiple engagements, exercise sound technical and commercial judgment, develop team members, strengthen client relationships, and contribute to the growth of a nationally recognized valuation practice.


The Manager will work closely with senior professionals and practice leaders on engagement execution, client relationship management, talent development, process improvement, and go-to-market initiatives. The role includes identifying and advancing opportunities, supporting proposal and scoping efforts, expanding relationships across client organizations and RSM, and building a strong internal and external network. Managers are expected to balance engagement delivery with sustained contributions to team talent, technical development, and practice growth.



Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related area of study
  • 6-8+ years of progressive business valuation experience, preferably within a national, global, or highly regarded advisory firm environment
  • Professional designation such as ASA, ABV, CPA, CFA, or a related credential, or substantial progress toward completion is preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and emerging productivity tools such as Copilot
  • Demonstrated capability leveraging automation, data analytics, and generative AI tools to enhance quality, efficiency, and insight generation
  • Ability to travel as needed to support client service, team collaboration, and practice development priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Well-rounded experience leading valuations for financial reporting, tax reporting, transaction advisory, and audit support purposes, including business combinations, impairment analyses, stock-based compensation, portfolio valuations, and complex investment positions
  • Experience overseeing a portfolio of business valuation and audit support engagements simultaneously, including planning workstreams, reviewing analyses, resolving technical issues, managing engagement economics, and communicating status and risks
  • Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop supervisors and staff; delegate effectively; provide candid feedback; and foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-accountability team culture
  • Demonstrated ability to lead client meetings, direct information-gathering discussions, understand strategic and operational priorities, identify key value drivers, and present supportable conclusions to senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to originate or advance opportunities by identifying unmet client needs, expanding existing relationships, collaborating across service lines, and supporting pursuit teams
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain positive, productive, and professional relationships with colleagues, clients, referral sources, audit and tax teams, and other key stakeholders
  • Desire to contribute to intellectual capital, recruiting, training, process innovation, quality initiatives, and other practice-building priorities

The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $95,400 - $192,000

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
