Financial Analyst

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Financial Analyst / Program Control Analyst to join our Program Management team. This role is responsible for supporting Program Managers by providing financial oversight, project controls, reporting, forecasting, and contract administration functions to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and compliant with contractual requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting government contracts, strong analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and a demonstrated ability to manage project financial performance throughout the full contract lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate recurring financial and operational reports on project performance, trends, forecasts, and key program metrics.
  • Support Program Managers and Deployment Managers in tracking project status, deliverables, budgets, and financial performance.
  • Conduct baseline-to-actual comparisons and variance analyses to identify risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
  • Analyze complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations to project and business leadership.
  • Develop financial forecasts and perform scenario analysis to support planning and decision making.
  • Monitor project expenditures, labor utilization, and contract funding.
  • Implement and maintain reporting procedures to track project status, work-in-progress (WIP), and contract deliverables.
  • Assist with project setup, billing structures, charge codes, and financial controls.
  • Gather and validate supporting documentation including timesheets, expense reports, subcontractor invoices, and progress reports.
  • Prepare, review, and submit accurate client invoices in accordance with contract requirements and billing schedules.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost controls, efficiency, and financial reporting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, government regulations, and contractual requirements.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field.
    • An additional two years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls, financial analysis, program controls, or project accounting.
  • Experience with cradle-to-grave project financial management, including:
    • Project setup and charging structures
    • Budget development and management
    • Baseline versus actual analysis
    • Variance analysis
    • Financial forecasting
    • Billing and invoicing
  • Strong understanding of government contracting financial practices and cost controls.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including:

    • VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
    • INDEX/MATCH
    • Conditional Formatting
    • Advanced formulas and data analysis techniques
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Active Secret Clearance.
