Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Director Finance Services, the Financial Analyst serves as a key member of the finance department, contributing to both internal and external financial analysis and reporting while also being on the forefront of project management and departmental initiatives.
This role demands robust analytical abilities, adaptability to changing circumstances, and a collaborative spirit to work effectively with clinical, administrative, and executive teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses to assist Directors in internal and external reporting requirements.
• Collect, validate, analyze, and interpret financial and operational data.
• Generate physician billing reports as required.
• Assist in automating recurring financial tasks to increase efficiency.
• Contribute to the implementation of new internal control processes.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data within hospital information systems.
• Analyze general accounting, prepare reconciliation schedules and support other ad-hoc accounting functions.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders on project initiatives.
• Lead and support finance and accounting projects from planning through implementation and evaluation (for example main Finance contact for future procure to pay implementation)
• Provide training and support to end-users during project implementations
• Support audit requests

What we are looking for
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; CPA and/or CFA designation is considered an asset.
• At least three years of experience in financial analysis, ideally within the healthcare or public sector.
• Proficiency with financial software such as Excel and ERP systems, as well as data analytics tools including Power BI.
• Self-starter, analytical and proven ability to work autonomously
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of Canadian healthcare funding models and regulatory requirements considered an asset.
• Bilingualism required (English/French)
