Position Details

The Finance System Implementation Manager will work collaboratively with a cross-functional team to support the modernization, integration, and implementation of finance modules as part of a larger enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation project. This role will contribute to improving operational efficiency and productivity, strengthening internal controls, and advancing Financial Services' strategic and operational objectives.

This is a full-time continuing position reporting to the Director, Financial Systems Support & Development, with a start date as soon as possible.

Primary duties and responsibilities include working closely with ERP modernization and implementation project teams while representing Financial Services in the following key areas:
  • Supporting project planning activities, including the development of finance project timelines, resource allocation plans, and project deliverables to ensure work is completed on time and within scope; providing leadership and guidance to Finance employees involved in ERP implementation activities, as required.
  • Analyzing finance processes, requirements, and workflows to identify deficiencies and opportunities for improvement; collaborating with finance stakeholders to redesign and optimize processes that align with the capabilities of a modernized ERP system.
  • Coordinating with Information Technology teams, external vendors, and technical consultants to configure financial modules (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, and Asset Management) and ensure seamless integration with new and existing systems.
  • Overseeing financial data management activities, including data cleanup, retention planning, and data migration, while ensuring data integrity, consistency, and accuracy throughout the transition.
  • Coordinating system testing and quality assurance activities to ensure implemented solutions meet business requirements, operational needs, and compliance standards.
  • Leading the development and delivery of training materials and user training programs; providing regular project updates; communicating project impacts, decisions, and changes; and managing stakeholder expectations throughout the implementation process.
  • The incumbent will serve as a change agent and key member of the project team, supporting organizational readiness and user adoption of finance systems while building and maintaining strong working relationships with finance leadership, project collaborators, system user groups, and other stakeholders.


The University of Lethbridge is undertaking a job classification and compensation review for Administrative Professional Officer (APO) positions. As such, the salary range currently assigned for this position may be adjusted as a result of this project.

Position Qualifications

Success in this role requires strong risk management, problem-solving, and relationship-management capabilities, including the ability to proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues; anticipate potential challenges; and develop effective mitigation strategies that support project objectives, timelines, and successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of experience leading or supporting complex, large-scale system implementation projects. Experience with enterprise ERP platforms such as Banner (Ellucian), PeopleSoft, Workday, or similar systems is required. Experience with finance system implementations, business process redesign, data migration, and stakeholder engagement is highly desirable. Familiarity with the post-secondary education sector is preferred. A CPA designation (or progress toward completion) and/or a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation would be considered an asset.

Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$77,111.09 - $97,005.51 annually

Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$77,111.09 - $116,899.94 annually (APO - Grade 4)
