SUMMARY

The Finance Manager serves as a finance business partner to operations, logistics, and commercial teams to drive profitability and operational efficiency. This role is accountable for financial planning, cost management, pricing support, and cross-functional analysis that informs strategic and operational decision-making and improves business income.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Leads financial planning and analysis for operations and logistics, including forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reporting
  • Serves as the primary finance business partner to converting, distribution, and logistics teams to improve cost efficiency and operational performance
  • Manages product costing and supports pricing activities, including RFPs, customer quotes, and margin analysis
  • Supports commercial and operations teams in evaluating profitability and financial trade-offs for strategic initiatives
  • Drives cross-functional profitability improvement initiatives, including cost savings, insource vs. outsource decisions, and productivity optimization
  • Evaluates capital expenditure opportunities, including financial modeling, return analysis, and business case development
  • Partners with cross-functional teams (Operations, Sales, R&D, Quality, Procurement) to align financial insights with business decisions
  • Leads cost performance reviews for manufacturing operations and identifies opportunities to reduce waste, including scrap and inefficiencies
  • Supports month-end close and financial reporting processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and audit support
  • Maintains and monitors financial controls to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Translates financial data into actionable insights and communicates findings effectively to non-financial stakeholders
  • Develops deep understanding of manufacturing processes to enhance financial analysis and decision support

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, required
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, required
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or operations finance, required
  • Experience applying cost accounting principles, including standard costing and variance analysis, required
  • Experience performing financial modeling and investment analysis (e.g., net present value (NPV), discounted cash flow (DCF), payback analysis), required
  • Experience using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, including bill of materials (BOMs), routing, and cost structures, required
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools, required
  • Experience with business intelligence and analytics tools, preferred
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects or initiatives, required

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

WORK LOCATION:

This role is expected to be onsite at our Pleasant View location in Plymouth, WI, 3 days per week and may work remotely 2 days per week. Remote work must be performed within Wisconsin or another approved state in accordance with company policy.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Occasional Travel (up to 10%) - Limited travel for training, meetings, or visits to other Sartori manufacturing facilities.
