Full Job Description
About the Role

We're looking for an Operations Finance Manager to be the finance partner to the people who run our manufacturing network. You'll own the financial picture for our manufacturing sites and our third-party lab network, and help operators fully understand their cost structure and identify opportunities.

This is a role for someone who wants to be close to the physical business. You'll spend real time in the details of overhead absorption, cost per unit, and vendor economics, and you'll also be in the room when we decide whether to buy a piece of equipment, open or consolidate a site, or bring work in-house. It's a high-ownership seat with visibility across Operations and Finance leadership.

What You'll Do
  • Partner with Manufacturing Site Leads. Own the finance relationship with each site. Make sure every site lead knows their budget cold, understands what's driving their variances, and has what they need to act on it. Be the person they call before they make a decision, not after.
  • Partner with the 3P Labs team. Bring financial clarity to the routing decisions this team owns. Build the analysis that shows what each routing choice costs us, and make sure the trade-offs are understood in real time - not discovered at close.
  • Run the operations monthly close. Lead pre-close and prelim close meetings with site leads: align with Cost Accounting in advance, set clear expectations with attendees, drive follow-ups to completion, and ensure every variance explanation is properly quantified and owned.
  • Own the accuracy of manufacturing COGS. Perform expense detail review on fixed overhead COGS to confirm costs are booked correctly. Analyze third-party lab costs to validate routing. Run gold and precious metals margin analyses to confirm we're pricing to our markup targets.
  • Make the process better every month. This close is not in its final form. We want someone who treats each cycle as an opportunity to remove manual work, tighten timelines, and raise the quality of what comes out the other side.
  • Support strategic decisions. Build the analysis behind manufacturing equipment purchases, manufacturing footprint decisions, and insource vs. outsource evaluations - and have a point of view on the answer, not just the model.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of finance experience, including meaningful time in a physical-product business in a high growth environment
  • Demonstrated success partnering with operators. You've built strong working relationships with operators and can translate between operational reality and financial impact in both directions.
  • Strong ownership of recurring processes. You've run a close, a forecast cycle, or a reporting cadence and left it better than you found it.
  • Excellent modeling skills - proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and also comfort w/ automating spreadsheet work with Claude Co-Work or other AI tools. Comfortable getting into large, messy datasets.
  • Exceptional communication skills - able to distill complex analysis into a clear recommendation for an executive audience.
  • Bias for action and comfort with ambiguity. You're willing to have backbone with senior stakeholders and push for the right answer.
