Full Job Description
Finance Manager, Amazon Leo FP&A Are you ready to get in on the ground floor of Amazon's long-term initiative to design, launch, and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world? It's Day 1 for Amazon's next billion-dollar business, and we are looking for an entrepreneurial Finance Manager to work in a start-up environment and someone who is passionate about technology, financial strategy, and FP&A, who thinks and acts globally, and has the ability to create and implement solutions, processes, and controls from the ground up. Amazon Leo seeks a Finance Manager to serve as the primary P&L owner for Revenue, Gross Profit, and Variable Operating Expenses across the Leo organization. This is an exciting opportunity to shape financial infrastructure and reporting processes in a high-growth, fast-moving team where your fingerprints will be on every major financial decision. You will own end-to-end planning cycles, drive cross-functional alignment with senior stakeholders across the Business Development & Operations, Amazon Leo for Government, and Corporate FP&A teams, and build the analytical frameworks that give leadership visibility into the financial health of the Leo business. The ideal candidate is strategic, analytically rigorous, and has a demonstrated ability to identify and resolve P&L integrity issues, influence without authority across complex organizational boundaries, and build scalable financial processes in ambiguous environments. This role requires regular interaction with senior executives and multiple stakeholders across Amazon, requiring strong influencing, interpersonal, and communication skills. Key job responsibilities P&L Ownership: Revenue, Gross Profit & Variable Operating Expenses - Serve as the primary P&L owner for Revenue, Gross Profit, and Variable OpEx across all of Amazon Leo, ensuring accurate, timely, and insightful financial results for leadership - Own monthly MEC (Month End Close) reporting and QBR (Quarterly Business Review) and Annual Operating Plan planning, including variance commentary, trend analysis, and leadership narratives - Identify, investigate, and resolve P&L integrity issues, including GL/product code misalignments, planning company discrepancies, and cross-deck reconciliation gaps before they reach leadership Cross-Functional Stakeholder Leadership - Manage complex cross-functional relationships, serving as the primary finance point of contact for Revenue and Gross Profit discussions - Contribute to Leo Segment Reporting, Revenue Recognition, and Cost Pool process working groups, representing FP&A's perspective on financial structure and reporting integrity Financial Infrastructure & Process Buildout - Design and implement financial infrastructure from the ground up that scale with the business - Build scalable tracking mechanisms and reporting tools that provide leadership with automated, real-time visibility Revenue through Contribution Profit - Investigate and implement AI-driven solutions to enhance financial reporting accuracy, streamline analytical processes, and identify opportunities for operational efficiency across the FP&A function A day in the life As the Finance Manager for Revenue, Gross Profit, and Variable OpEx on the Leo FP&A team, your day sits at the intersection of financial strategy, operational rigor, and cross-functional leadership. You might start by reviewing MEC actuals that just landed and flagging a discrepancy between the Gross Profit deck and the P&L submission - tracing the root cause through the GL, coordinating with Accounting, and driving a same-day resolution before it reaches leadership. Mid-morning, you're in a working session with BizOps and ALG to align on OP2 target-setting methodology for the next planning cycle, escalating a $100M+ variance in AWS spending targets that needs executive visibility. Between meetings, you're facilitating building out a new channel code structure to improve P&L business segmentation, coordinating submissions with Corporate FP&A, and reviewing a new product line's financial framework with the Mobility team. Your work directly shapes how Amazon's leadership understands the financial health of one of the company's most ambitious long-term bets. About the team We are a collaborative, high-performing Financial Planning & Analysis team dedicated to supporting the strategic growth of Amazon's Leo organization. Our mission is to provide clear, data-driven financial insights that enable informed decision-making at every level of the business. We partner closely with product teams, operations, engineering, and executive leadership to translate financial data into actionable business strategies. We're committed to modernizing our processes through technology, automation, and AI - and we're excited to welcome someone who can help us build the financial infrastructure that will support Amazon Leo's growth from launch through global scale. Joining our team means becoming part of a group that values analytical rigor, intellectual honesty, and a shared commitment to getting it right for one of Amazon's most important long-term initiatives.
