Job Description:

Prepares and oversees month-end statistical reports submitted to AHS or facility leadership. Assists leadership in the analysis of data. Oversees submission of data for daily statistics report including internal statistics and CFO Reports. Reviews data submissions from corporate departments for accurate presentation. Provides support for the Cost Accounting Systems and prepares cost studies for departments with high expense utilization, setting cost standards for each procedure. Manages the annual operating and department budgets for the Market and assists with coordination of capital budget. Assists with initial volume assumptions and review of department budgets. Updates budget templates and provides training to department directors and managers as needed. Prepares studies relative to financial impact, departmental profit and loss statements, and potential new lines of business or revisions to existing lines of business for the Region. Oversees preparation of cost and AHCA reports with the Corporate Office and assists Region/Facility Controllers with review of these reports. Other duties as assigned.

• Strong interpersonal skills and managerial skills, with the ability to manage and provide guidance to a team of financial analysts, seniors, and managers.
• Ability to compile and analyze financial information on trended data for financial decision making, utilizing advanced analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Computer skills including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets using Microsoft software platforms, with an advanced level of proficiency in the use of personal computers and all Microsoft Office products. Extensive knowledge of spreadsheet analysis tools preferred.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements, with advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Provides mentoring, training, and development assistance to Financial Analysts, with a willingness to mentor and coach other staff members.
• Innovative thinking skills, interpretive analytics, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to utilize sound judgement and take initiative.
• Knowledgeable in current healthcare financial trends, understanding of hospital quality measures, and operational understanding of routine accounting and finance functions. Experience in a hospital environment preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of General Ledger systems and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with general knowledge of healthcare accounting processes, policies, and systems.
• Demonstrates evidence of continuous professional development and maintains satisfactory participation and attendance at required and non-required meetings and staff development programs.
• Ability to work independently, self-motivated with the ability to work both independent and as a part of a team.
