Key Responsibilities:
Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high performing staff.
Review and evaluate staff performance for four positions within the team covering accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting.
Oversee month-end and year-end close activities and schedules to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely completion of deliverables.
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other financial transactions while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Review internal financial statements for accuracy and readiness for final presentation.
Support the annual independent audit and 990 preparation by coordinating requests, preparing documentation, and facilitating information gathering.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
8+ years of progressive experience in accounting & finance, including 3+ years in a supervisory role.
Experience with nonprofit fund accounting.
Previous leadership experience developing and managing a finance team.
Strong ability to delegate to and motivate team members.
