Full Job Description
SUMMARY: This role is responsible for strategic planning and leading strategic business transformation projects within finance. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks may include but are not limited to:
  • Lead strategic business transformation projects within the finance function.
  • As needed develop innovative finance and operational metrics to enhance profitability and efficiency.
  • Translate corporate strategies into actionable business plans and financial forecasts.
  • Design and implement new finance organizational structures to support evolving business needs.
  • Oversee the creation of financial outlooks and gap closure plans to adapt to shifting market dynamics.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align financial strategies with long-term business goals.
  • Analyze financial data to inform and improve company-wide decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with the executive management team to translate corporate strategy into actionable and financially viable business plans
  • Lead organizational restructuring efforts from a financial perspective, optimizing for efficiency and profitability
  • Engage with the board of directors and investor relations to communicate financial strategy, performance, and outlook

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong leadership qualities with experience in executive team collaboration and cross-functional team leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with stakeholders and team members.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, strategic planning, and financial analysis.
  • Ability to develop and present financial reports, forecasts, and strategic plans to executive management and the board of directors.
  • Expertise in financial systems, such as HFM Hyperion, and the ability to manage complex financial transactions.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and driving results.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in finance, with a strong background in FP&A, strategic planning, and corporate finance.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in leading finance teams and managing large-scale financial projects within a large, complex organization.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, financial management, and business growth.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards, financial procedures, and contract research organization (CRO) operations is advantageous.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous learning and development, as evidenced by completion of executive coaching programs or similar initiatives.


Promotion to the next level is not automatic based on years of experience. Personnel are evaluated on proven competency, level of responsibility, and ability to work independently.
