As our Finance Business Partner - Property Operations, you will work directly with the Executive Vice President to evaluate opportunities, improve profitability, modernize financial processes, and help guide the company's future direction.
What You'll DoAccounting Leadership & OversightIn this role you will manage and be able to perform the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, deposits, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
Your role is to ensure the financial engine is accurate, efficient, and continuously improving by:
- Reviewing monthly financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensuring compliance with GAAP, lender requirements, and HUD regulations.
- Overseeing annual audits and tax preparation with outside CPA firms.
- Establishing and improving accounting policies and internal controls.
- Mentoring and developing accounting staff.
- Supporting complex accounting matters and special projects.
Strategic Finance & Business PartnershipWorking directly with the Executive Vice President, you'll serve as a trusted financial advisor, transforming financial data into strategic business decisions that support the company's continued growth and profitability.
Responsibilities include:- Developing budgets, forecasts, financial models, and executive reporting that support strategic planning.
- Evaluating acquisitions, refinancing opportunities, capital investments, and new business ventures.
- Analyzing portfolio performance, profitability, cash flow, and operational trends to identify risks and opportunities.
- Creating meaningful KPIs, dashboards, and financial analyses that drive informed business decisions.
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, increase profitability, and support long-term growth.
- Presenting recommendations and partnering with leadership to guide strategic and operational decision-making.
Technology & Process ImprovementTechnology is a strategic priority for our organization.

Responsibilities include:- Becoming our internal expert on Yardi and related financial systems.
- Identifying opportunities to automate manual accounting and reporting processes.
- Leveraging technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and decision-making.
- Developing standardized reporting and executive dashboards.
- Streamlining workflows across finance and operations.
- Recommending and implementing solutions that improve scalability as we continue to grow.

QualificationsRequired- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Minimum 5 years of property management or real estate accounting experience
- Advanced experience with Yardi property management software
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Proven experience leading process improvement initiatives
- Strong business acumen and executive communication skills
Preferred- CPA designation
- Master's degree
- Experience with HUD-financed communities
- Experience evaluating acquisitions or real estate investments
- Experience implementing financial technology or business intelligence solutions
