GHD is excited to announce our search for the Finance Business Partner. This position works closely with Finance Managers (FMs), Project Managers (PMs), Project Directors (PDs), Business Group Leaders (BGLs) and key stakeholders to drive financial performance and provide key insights. The Finance Business Partner works under the direction of the Finance Manager to provide proactive support to the business including financial reporting and analysis, project financial support, internal and external compliance, pricing / commercial support, profit & loss review, and month-end close support.

This position can be based in most of our US GHD office locations with a preference in one of the GHD offices in the northeast US. GHD supports a hybrid work model.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work to include:
  • Working closely with Finance Manager and key stakeholders to drive optimal financial performance by influencing, analyzing, interpreting and communicating key performance indicators
  • Providing trusted financial advice to key stakeholders to align business direction, financial strategies and utilizing a variety of data sources to support sound decision making
  • Assisting in preparation of financial reporting and provides valuable analysis and insights
  • Assisting in Pricing / Commercial Analysis support for project proposals and projects
  • Analyzing and reviewing actual vs budgeted expenses account on the Profit and Loss Statement
  • Supporting the Finance Manager as needed with all aspects of the month end close process to ensure accurate financial results
  • Supporting the annual budgeting process by analyzing existing data and providing forecasts
  • Supporting operations on complex project set up and work breakdown structure
  • Promptly raising the key business risks affecting the business and develop and implement actions to mitigate the business risks and to optimize business performance
  • Assisting in liaising and addressing queries from corporate, internal and external auditors
  • Assisting in ensuring GHD meets all internal and external compliance requirements
  • Conducting regular audit of project management system to ensure complex projects accurately reflect the work breakdown structure, commercial terms and billing requirements
  • Performing monthly analytical reviews of major projects or projects in trouble (Estimate at Completion, Percentage of Completion, Earned Value), Revenue, WIP, AR, Variances) and engaging with PMs, PDs and stakeholders for discussion to ensure optimal performance and accurate revenue recognition
  • Supporting with analysis of KPIs and Billing / Cash Collections forecasts

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or business. Advanced degree a plus
  • Minimum of five years' related experience
  • Commercially astute with sound business acumen

The salary range for this position is $90,000-$152,000 depending on experience and location.
