Fighters, Weapons, and Training Devices First Line Support Engineering Technical Manager (Level K)

The Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a First-Line Support Engineering Technical Manager (Level K) to support our Fighters, Weapons, and Training Devices teams in Hazelwood, MO. This position may also sit in Saint Charles, Mo.

This position will lead a team of product support personnel responsible for the integration of all domestic platforms and lMxE deliveries, managing technical data and maintenance planning authoring for Fighters, Weapons, and Training devices for both US and International customers across multiple platforms, and engaging/working with other Product Support teams. The selected candidate will be responsible for successfully leading, developing, and motivating a team of talented individuals.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Leads planning and integration of BGS Maintenance Engineering (MxE) activities for stand-alone support programs, both foreign and domestic, across the Fighters, Weapons, and Training Devices
  • Applies technical knowledge of Product Support Engineering, Logistics Management and Program Management Best Practices to direct program activities
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees performing activities related to Program Management, Support Engineering and Provisioning
  • Aligns team performance with organizational goals while utilizing Program Management Best Practices to manage budgets, maintain schedules, identify and mitigate risks and issues
  • Monitors and tracks execution of team's Statement of Work (SOW) and communicates status to all supported programs
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees
  • Ability to work on-site 5 days per week


Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment: To be considered for this position you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership"
  • 3+ years of experience in Product Support, Engineering or related discipline/environment
  • 3+ years of experience working with and/or interpreting engineering data or engineering drawings
  • 1+ years of experience interfacing with and supporting senior leadership


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Experience or strong familiarity with Cost Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities and earned value management
  • Experience with analyzing and interpreting engineering data for inclusion into maintenance manuals, technical publications
  • Experience working with Program Management Best Practices (PMBP)
  • Experience supporting defense programs
  • Experience working with U.S. Government customers
