About the roleWe're hiring a Field Strategy & Operations Manager to lead our Los Angeles market. You'll manage two teams at once: a team of full-time handymen who serve our members, and a set of AI agents and tools that prep visits, draft member communications, monitor performance data, and keep the operation running.
You'll coach handymen in driveways and on ride-alongs, and you'll review, correct, and improve the work your AI tools produce. The leverage from the second team is what lets you hold a higher standard with the first.
This role is based in Los Angeles, field + office. It is not a remote role.
What you'll do- Hire, coach, and lead a team of handymen, owning quality, retention, and team culture
- Run daily market operations with an AI toolkit: visit preparation, member communication drafts, scheduling, and performance dashboards
- Review and verify agent output, and decide which workflows earn more autonomy over time
- Own member experience in your market, including escalations, with hospitality and urgency
- Partner with recruiting to keep your hiring pipeline ahead of growth
- Use data to find problems early and build playbooks that fix them permanently
What you'll accomplish in the first six months- Own market performance. Quality, retention, utilization, and visit feedback, reviewed weekly from the dashboards and acted on.
- Build and coach the handyteam. Ride-alongs, structured feedback, and a hiring pipeline that stays ahead of plan.
- Make the agent stack yours. Adopt the AI toolkit, add your own workflows, and graduate at least one from human-reviewed to trusted automation with a verification habit that scales.
- Set the hospitality standard. Model it personally and train it, measured through member retention, visit feedback, NPS, and referrals.
- Grow the market. Hit utilization and retention targets as we expand coverage across Los Angeles.
What you bring- 3+ years of strategy, operations, or field management experience, ideally at a startup or tech-forward company
- Real people leadership: you've hired, coached, and held a team accountable. Experience managing frontline or field teams is a strong plus
- Hands-on AI use with concrete results, and the habit of checking output before trusting it; experience building agents or workflows with tools like Claude is a strong plus
- Analytical instincts: you use data and dashboards to guide decisions
- A hospitality mindset and genuine care for customers and teammates
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Hands-on familiarity with home maintenance and repair is a plus
Compensation & benefits- Salary: $110,000 to $150,000 base, commensurate with experience

- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; we cannot sponsor visas at this time.
