Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a Licensed Plumber (Journeyman) to support our Massachusetts market. This position is responsible for performing plumbing-related installations, modifications, repairs, and maintenance on Quench's filtered water systems, including bottleless water coolers, ice machines, sparkling water dispensers, coffee brewers, and related water treatment equipment.

The Licensed Plumber will ensure all installations and plumbing work comply with Massachusetts plumbing codes, permitting requirements, and safety regulations. This role serves as a key customer-facing representative of Quench, delivering a professional and positive service experience while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and regulatory compliance.

The Licensed Plumber reports to the Field Service Manager and operates a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Perform plumbing installations, modifications, repairs, and maintenance on Quench water filtration and dispensing systems.
  • Install, connect, and commission bottleless water coolers, ice machines, sparkling water dispensers, coffee brewers, and related water treatment equipment.
  • Ensure all plumbing work complies with Massachusetts State Plumbing Code and local jurisdiction requirements.
  • Pull permits when required and coordinate inspections with local authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing and equipment issues and perform necessary repairs.
  • Inspect water supply, drainage, and plumbing systems to identify deficiencies and ensure proper operation.
  • Routinely replace water filters, sanitize water systems, replace UV lamps, and maintain water lines.
  • Visually inspect installations for leaks, code violations, and equipment malfunctions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, work orders, and installation instructions.
  • Identify plumbing, safety, and code-related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and service agreement obligations.
  • Accurately document service activities, permits, inspections, and customer interactions using company systems.
  • Electronically transfer customer and company information through mobile service applications.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety policies, customer site requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Safely operate, maintain, and inspect company vehicles according to company policies.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain professional communication with customers, contractors, inspectors, and internal teams.


Requirements

  • Current Massachusetts Journeyman Plumber License required
  • Minimum 2 years of plumbing installation, service, or repair experience.
  • Experience with commercial plumbing systems, water treatment equipment, beverage equipment, or similar service-related work preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of Massachusetts plumbing codes, permitting processes, and inspection requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, technical manuals, and plumbing schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and plumbing testing equipment.
  • General computer proficiency required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and mobile service applications preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced customer-focused environment.
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening requirements.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to lift and carry 70+ pounds and perform physical activities including bending, squatting, climbing ladders, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to travel throughout Massachusetts to support customer installations and service needs.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial water filtration, point-of-use water coolers, ice machines, coffee equipment, or beverage systems.
  • Experience working with plumbing permits, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
  • Customer-facing field service experience.
  • OSHA safety training or similar industry certifications.


Schedule

A typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., although hours may vary based on customer needs and project schedules.

$43 - $47 an hour
