Position Summary

The Field Service Engineer III (FSE III) is a senior-level role responsible for leading complex field service operations, supporting key customer accounts, and mentoring junior engineers. This position combines advanced technical expertise with team leadership to ensure successful installation, maintenance, and repair of capital equipment.

The FSE III plays a critical role in driving service excellence, improving processes, and delivering a high level of customer satisfaction in a fast-paced, field-based environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Support
  • Serve as the technical expert for diagnosing and resolving complex equipment issues
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to junior Field Service Engineers
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new team members

Installation & Service Execution
  • Lead installation and configuration of advanced equipment at customer sites
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs
  • Ensure all work meets company standards and customer specifications

Customer Engagement
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and technical support
  • Conduct on-site training and provide system guidance to end users
  • Build strong relationships with customers to support long-term success

Project & Operations Management
  • Plan, schedule, and execute field service projects
  • Manage resources and timelines to ensure on-time completion
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, reports, and equipment records

Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance service efficiency and quality
  • Support inventory management of tools, parts, and calibration equipment


Qualifications/ Skills
  • Present a positive image projection and interface to Service Group.
  • Supervise and technical support to others junior FSEs. Create a collaborative, can-do, results-oriented working environment within the team.
  • Professionalism in appearance and manner. (set examples for FSE I/II)
  • Competence and high-level service delivery.
  • Team overseeing and organization. I.E. - Documentation is timely and accurate; PMs are current and quality for FSE Group; Calibration Jigs inventory maintenance. Care of Company's assets, tools, laptop, cell phone, etc.
  • Teamwork with Sales and peers.
  • FSE III typically requires 7 - 10 years of related experience.


Education
  • AA/AS Degree preferred; 7 years mechanical, electromechanical equipment repair experience in the Surface Mount Technology industry sufficient in lieu of degree.


Work Environment & Travel
  • Frequent domestic and international travel (up to 80%)
  • Work performed at customer sites and in field environments
  • Must be able to lift 60-75 lbs and work within/around equipment. This position requires that the candidate be able to bend into machinery without restrictions.


Other Pertinent Qualifications- Candidate must have:
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License
  • Valid U.S. passport


Compensation Information:

The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience. The range for this position is :$38.00 - $48.00 (Hourly).
