Field Service Engineer (Mechanical/Marine Engineer)As a Field Service Engineer (Mechanical/Marine Engineer), you will provide field service technical direction in support of US Navy aircraft carrier, submarine, and other support vessels. You will provide technical direction primarily associated with the shipboard installation and overhaul of Curtiss Wright product such as steam turbines, pumps, trip throttle valves, and electrical generators. You will be providing engineering oversight to key clients throughout the disassembly, inspection, complex report writing, repairs, reassembly, and testing of related equipment. Typical work environment is industrial in nature where odd hours and weekend work is not uncommon.
Location: Chesapeake, VA
Salary: $100,000 to $110,000Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in VA. Criteria such as the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.
Your Challenges- Experience in heavy rotating oil lubricated machinery
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Perform maintenance and overhaul activity on complex rotating machinery
- Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret assembly and machining drawings
- Knowledge and experience using tooling, machining, and measurement devices
- Candidate must be able to technically troubleshoot complex rotating machinery
- Ability to communicate to all internal and external customers professionally
- Candidate must have basic computer skills with the ability to navigate and generate complex Word and Excel reports
- Candidate must be able to support overtime and weekends as necessary
What You Bring- Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and/or 10+ years experience in the related field.
- Must be US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
- Shipboard construction environment experience preferred.
- Prior experience with maintenance overhaul activity on complex rotating machinery, preferably steam turbine experience.
- Willing and able to travel up to 25%.
