Position Summary

The Field Operations Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day execution of field operations for communications infrastructure projects supporting FAA, DoD, DHS, USCG, and commercial customers. Reporting to the Director of Construction or senior construction leadership, this position oversees workforce planning, field execution, safety, training, logistics, subcontractor performance, and operational readiness across multiple concurrent projects. The role serves as the operational counterpart to senior leadership by ensuring projects are properly staffed, qualified, scheduled, and executed while supporting strategic planning and organizational growth.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Direct daily field operations across multiple communications infrastructure construction projects.
  • Coordinate field supervisors, crews, subcontractors, equipment, fleet, and material logistics.
  • Develop and maintain workforce plans, manpower studies, and resource forecasts.
  • Develop executive-level resource-loaded schedules, manpower histograms, workforce planning dashboards, and scenario-based resource planning models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Create and maintain resource allocation models to evaluate staffing options for current and future projects.
  • Support estimating with production rates, labor planning, constructability reviews, and field cost validation.
  • Assist senior leadership with strategic planning by evaluating operational capacity, staffing requirements, execution risks, and growth initiatives.
  • Support project startup, mobilization, commissioning, turnover, and closeout.


Security Clearance Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance when required.
  • Eligible for access to federal and military installations.


Travel Expectations
  • 10% to 30% travel with some overnight assignments depending on project workload.


Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, operations, management, construction, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Typically 3-5 years of field operations, supervisory, or management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, and hold field employees accountable.
  • Experience coordinating daily field activities, staffing, schedules, equipment, materials, and workflow.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, workplace safety procedures, and incident reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with employees, customers, vendors, and management.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and the ability to learn company-specific operational software.
  • Ability to make decisions independently, resolve field issues, and prioritize competing demands.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between field locations as required.
  • Ability to work outdoors or in field environments and perform site visits as required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, or emergency call-ins when operationally necessary.
