Qualifications

  • Monitor operational issues and develop initiatives to reduce recurring failures
  • Optimize Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs for continuous improvement
  • Develop Management of Change (MOC) packages for equipment and process upgrades

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated Field Facility Engineer to join our growing Kirby and Jackfish SAGD Thermal Operations. In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team delivering practical, high-impact engineering solutions that enhance equipment reliability, facility performance, and operational efficiency.

This opportunity is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys solving complex operational challenges, and wants to play a direct role in supporting the company's long-term production, reliability and profitability goals.

  • Job Location: Lac La Biche - Kirby/Jackfish Site (camp based)
  • Shift Schedule: 4x3, 10-hour shifts, Monday to Thursday
  • Safety Sensitive Position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:

As the district Facility Engineer, you will champion equipment and process reliability by:
  • Building strong working relationships with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams to deliver effective solutions to challenging problems
  • Providing day-to-day engineering support for critical rotating and static equipment, including pumps, motors, compressors, exchangers, vessels and control valves
  • Driving continuous improvement projects focused on production efficiency, equipment reliability and operational excellence
  • Leading facility upgrades through the Management of Change (MOC) process from concept through to implementation and commissioning
  • Facilitating Root Cause Analysis following unplanned equipment failures & process upsets, and leveraging sustainable corrective actions across the district
  • Sharing technical knowledge and mentoring less experienced engineers and team members
  • Contributing technical expertise to new greenfield & brownfield projects, debottlenecking, and managing small capital projects

What You Bring to the Role:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng) registered with APEGA, or an Engineer-in-Training approaching P. Eng eligibility
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in Oil & Gas or industrial operations
  • Strong experience with rotating equipment (pumps, motors, compressors) in an operating environment
  • Working knowledge of reliability methodologies including RCA's, FMEA's, RCM's and PM optimization
  • Proven ability to prioritize work and deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities with the ability to identify practical, field-ready solutions
  • Demonstrated initiative, accountability and a passion for continuous improvement
