Full Job Description
The Field CTO,Public Sector is an industry-facing technical leader who will bridge engineering, process automation, and real-world challenges with select federal government entities, i.e., DOW, Veterans Administration, Treasury, and DOS. This individual will act as the trusted technical advisor and innovation leader for Public Sector accounts, partners, and prospects. They will ensure Public Sector readiness and market fit, help shape IGEL's product strategy to accommodate the rapid digital transformation in the Public Sector, and help customers navigate the change, ensuring IGEL is the platform of choice for secure customer endpoints.

Due to compliance and tax reporting reasons, this position is open to candidates living in the following states: AR, AZ, CA, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, MA, MD, MI, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, TX, UT, SC, VA, WA, and WI

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Customer-Facing Strategy & Thought Leadership
    1. Serve as the senior technical executive and advisor for Public Sector accounts
    2. Translate agency goals (e.g., IT, cyber resilience, regulatory compliance, Zero Trust initiatives) into meaningful, scalable, compliant, and secure solution architectures
  • Industry Architecture Leadership
    1. Develop validated architectures for Public Sector environments, addressing complex data and infrastructure needs
    2. Architect secure end-to-end solutions using the IGEL stack (UMS, Application Portal, IGEL OS) integrated with SI and other tech partners
  • Ecosystem & Integration
    1. Influence joint roadmaps to ensure IGEL endpoints support the latest workloads and security models
    2. Influence product direction and Public Sector ecosystem partnerships
    3. Support PoCs and pilot deployments within regulated environments; ensure alignment with 21 CFR Part 11 / Annex 11 expectations
  • Product Feedback & Innovation
    1. Act as the "voice of the customer" for IGEL engineering and product teams-informing features, compliance needs, and automation-related requirements
    2. Identify gaps, propose enhancements, and work cross-functionally to refine IGEL's Public Sector solutions
    3. Contribute to reference architectures, whitepapers, and validated design guides for Public Sector environments
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance Leadership
    1. Guide agencies on securing the industrial edge using:
      • Zero Trust principles
      • Least privilege access
      • Endpoint attestation
      • Secure supply chain requirements
    2. Partner with agency cybersecurity teams to demonstrate risk reduction and operational resilience

QUALIFICATIONS
• 8-12+ years in IT leadership, process engineering; knowledge of and experience with Public Sector technology strongly preferred
• Security clearance strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of Public Sector software ecosystems
• Strong network within the U.S. Public Sector, including the DOW, Veterans Administration, Treasury, and DOS
• Strong understanding of current and future tech trends relevant to government, e.g., FedRAMP, Data Sovereignty , A.I. ethics
• Demonstrated results collaborating with customers and internal engineering organizations to create and deliver winning product strategies
• Experience supporting integrations with legacy platforms; experience with large-scale digital transformations across IT networks
• Knowledge of cybersecurity standards (Zero Trust, NIST 800-82, ISA/IEC 62443)
• Strong knowledge of edge computing
• Executive-level communication skills and comfort presenting to senior technical and agency stakeholders
• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
• Strong customer orientation with experience in advisory, pre-sales engineering, or field CTO roles
• Ability to travel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with IGEL, thin/secure OS, or endpoint management platforms and designing endpoint solutions
• Background in solution architecture
• Experience navigating complex government procurement and compliance landscapes
• Engineering or technical degree (mechanical, electrical, automation, computer science, or related)
