Summary Description:

Syntiant Corp. is looking for an experienced Field Applications Engineer to be a key technical partner to customers, sales, product, and engineering teams. This role supports customers from early product evaluation through integration, launch, and production across Syntiant's edge AI, processor, sensor, and software solutions.

The ideal candidate has strong field applications experience, a solid embedded systems background, and the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a practical, customer-friendly way. This person will help customers solve technical challenges, demonstrate Syntiant solutions, and move programs from concept to production.

Requirements

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a primary technical contact for customers, sales teams, distributors, product management, and engineering.
  • Support customer engagements from product discovery and evaluation through design-in, launch, and production.
  • Help customers evaluate, integrate, and deploy Syntiant's edge AI, processor, sensor, and software solutions.
  • Lead product demonstrations, technical workshops, customer training, and application reviews.
  • Recommend solutions based on customer requirements, performance needs, power goals, and system constraints.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and system-level issues with customers and internal teams.
  • Share customer requirements, technical issues, and market feedback with engineering, product, and business teams.
  • Create clear technical documentation, training materials, demo content, and customer-facing resources.
  • Partner with sales and business teams to support customer adoption and design wins.
  • Help drive customer issues to closure with clear ownership, follow-up, and communication.
  • Travel as needed to customer sites, trade shows, sales regions, and Syntiant locations.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in field applications, applications engineering, systems engineering, embedded product support, technical product management, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Strong experience supporting customer evaluations, product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, design-ins, launches, and production ramps.
  • Solid embedded systems background, with experience across processors, microcontrollers, sensors, audio, connectivity, or related semiconductor technologies.
  • Working knowledge of embedded software, firmware, drivers, development kits, operating systems, and customer prototype environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and system-level issues and drive timely resolution with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to understand customer requirements, recommend practical solutions, and clearly explain technical tradeoffs.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and technical documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with sales, product, business, and engineering teams.
  • Experience with edge AI, machine learning deployment, low-power systems, acoustic applications, or competitive product analysis is a plus.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting base pay for this role is targeted to be between $160,000 to $195,000. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Syntiant, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range. We recognize that the person(s) we select for hire may be less experienced or more experienced than the role as posted; if this is the case, any updates to available salary ranges will be communicated with candidates during the recruitment process.
