  • Analyze accounting and financial data, investigate discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, account analyses, and financial reporting deliverables.
  • Support Treasury reporting and ensure financial data quality.
  • Develop audit-ready documentation and manage audit-related requests.
  • Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and training initiatives.

What You Will Do:
  • Support USDA Rural Development financial operations through accounting, reconciliations, reporting, internal controls, and audit readiness.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations, including General Ledger, FBWT, SF-224, adjusted trial balance, financial statement, and DATA Act reconciliations.
  • Analyze accounting and financial data, investigate discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, account analyses, supporting schedules, and financial reporting deliverables.
  • Support Treasury reporting, financial systems validation, and financial data quality reviews.
  • Develop audit-ready documentation and support responses to audit and oversight requests.
  • Contribute to process improvements, documentation, training, and special projects.


What You Will Need:
  • Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD Public Trust.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Four (4+) plus years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, audit support, or government financial management.
  • Experience with General Ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with financial systems and large datasets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to work in a Guidehouse Office or Client Office.


What Would Be Nice To Have:
  • CPA, CGFM, CMA, CDFM, or other relevant professional certification.
  • Prior consulting experience supporting federal clients.
  • Additional years of accounting, financial management, or audit experience.
  • Experience with federal accounting, Treasury reporting, DATA Act reporting, FBWT, SF-224, and financial statement support.
  • Experience supporting USDA or other federal civilian agencies.
  • Experience supporting audits, internal controls, compliance reviews, and corrective action efforts.
