Role and Facility Information

A clinic in Vancouver's downtown eastside, is looking to grow their team. They are a full-scope family practice that is supported by a psychiatrist, mental health counsellors, elders, a dietician and full-time RN who does blook work, immunizations, would care, pap smear screening, and STI treamtments. The clinic has 10 physicians working in the clinic and conducts appointments both virtually and in person. The clinic serves a predominantly urban Indigenous population, although not exclusively so. Many of the patients struggle with chronic illnesses (HIV, HCV, Diabetes, COPD) in the context of poverty, homelessness, substance use disorders, and mental health issues.

Remuneration: Sessional

Hours: Shift session hours are M-F: 9am-12:30pm, 1:30-5pm; M-Th 5:00-8:30pm; Sat 9am-2:30pm and Sun: 9-12:30.

Other relevant information: The clinic is looking for physicians who can provide trauma-informed, culturally competent care to their specific patient population. Interested candidates must have a methadone license and be competent in prescribing opioid agonist therapy. The clinic also hosts a weekly evening youth clinic and a weekly women and children's afternoon.

Position Details: Locum Needed - Ongoing needs for day, evening and Satruday shifts. Full or half days available
