Position Summary:We are seeking a dedicated, mission-driven Family Practice Physician to serve as Medical Director of our Rural Family Medicine Residency Program. This dual-role position combines comprehensive outpatient clinical care with leadership, teaching, and program development responsibilities.
About the RoleThe Family Practice Physician & Medical Director will:
- Provide full-spectrum family medicine care to a diverse rural population
- Lead and oversee the Rural Family Medicine Residency Program
- Supervise and mentor resident physicians and medical students
- Ensure program compliance with ACGME accreditation standards
- Promote community engagement and rural health initiatives
- Collaborate with hospital and clinic leadership on strategic planning
Clinical Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive primary care (pediatrics through geriatrics)
- Perform in-office procedures as appropriate
- Participate in shared call schedule
- Maintain high-quality, patient-centered care standards
- Support population health and preventative care initiatives
Medical Director Responsibilities- Provide overall leadership for the residency program
- Develop curriculum and oversee educational programming
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty and residents
- Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards
- Lead Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts
- Serve as liaison between residency program and hospital/health system leadership
- Participate in recruitment and community outreach efforts
QualificationsRequired:- MD or DO degree from accredited institution
- Board Certified in Family Medicine
- Eligible for medical licensure in New York State
- Minimum 3-5 years clinical experience
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Passion for rural and underserved populations
Preferred:- Prior residency teaching experience
- Administrative or leadership training

Salary: $285,000 to $325,000 per year DOE
