  • Ensure that patient medication regimens are cost-effective, accessible post-discharge, and clinically appropriate.

Clinical Documentation & Compliance
  • Complete timely and thorough documentation in the Kipu EMR, including H&Ps, medication orders, and progress notes.
  • Ensure documentation is aligned with ASAM, TJC, and Maryland Department of Health standards.
  • Participate in performance improvement (PI) initiatives and assist in quality assurance or peer review when requested.

Team Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with the PMHNP, Director of Nursing, case managers, and clinical team to align medical care with psychiatric and therapeutic goals.
  • Communicate relevant changes in medical status or risk factors to appropriate departments.
  • Participate in evening handoff reports and maintain communication logs to support overnight continuity of care.

Patient & Family Education
  • Educate patients and families on medical diagnoses, treatment plans, medication use, and harm-reduction strategies.
