DescriptionA Family Medicine Physician is a specialized medical doctor responsible for providing comprehensive, continuous healthcare services for patients of all ages, from newborns to older adults. Family Medicine Physicians diagnose, treat, and help prevent a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions while promoting overall health and wellness.
Core Responsibilities- Evaluate, Diagnose & Treat: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, physical examinations, and develop treatment plans for acute illnesses, chronic diseases, and preventive health needs.
- Preventive Care & Health Maintenance: Provide routine wellness visits, annual physicals, immunizations, screening services, and health risk assessments to promote long-term health.
- Patient Education & Care Coordination: Educate patients and families regarding disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and treatment plans while coordinating care with specialists and other healthcare providers as needed.
Key Qualifications & Requirements- Education: A medical degree (MD or DO) followed by the successful completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program.
- Licensing: Must possess an active, unrestricted medical license in the state of Minnesota.
- Board Certification: Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine.
CompensationMany factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as: the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity. Pay listed does not include any shift, weekend, or other differentials.
