Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00

Prior local and state government years of service count toward calculating vacation accrual rate! The Physician provides direct care within the Cabarrus Health Alliance Clinical Services Division, including adult primary care, pediatrics, women's health, family planning, substance use services, and communicable disease services, based on community and agency needs. The Physician will participate in strategic planning, program and service line development, and quality improvement initiatives. The Physician will also provide clinical oversight, mentorship, and supervision of advanced practice providers and learners as needed to support organizational goals and ensure high quality patient care.
Primary Responsibilities:- Performs physical exams, orders and interprets appropriate lab tests, prescribes medications, and other treatments for patients seen in Cabarrus Health Alliance clinics and programs
- Maintains patient records and other required documentation
- Supervises and mentors the clinical practice of advanced practice providers
- Participates in division wide call schedule, usually covering the equivalence of about 2-3 months per year. Answering Service is available for initial triage. Only responsible for concerns not handled through triage nurse after hours
- Provides consultation during normal operation hours, and after hours as needed
- Maintain appropriate CME for Medical Licensure and as required by the state of North Carolina
Education/Experience: Graduation from an approved college of medicine and a residency program. Additional course work or experience in public health and MPH degree preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
License: License to practice medicine in North Carolina.
