Compensation Type:

Combination

Scheduling: Minimum 1-week locum (Monday-Sunday) with arrival the day prior. Our streamlined scheduling model ensures balanced workload, flexibility, and strong on-site support.

Compensation (the rates below reflect the weekly rate):
  • 55 hour week (clinical care hours); $15,531 (APP $12,636 + FPE 25.62% $3,168)
  • All ED shifts receive additional on-call compensation through MOCAP and REEF.
  • After Hours Premiums (AHP) available for clinical care provided on-site after hours (enhanced by the Rural Retention Program Fee-Premium-Equivalent 25.62%).

ED On-Call Information:
  • Emergency Room is open 24/7
  • On-call rotation: 1-in-3 to 1-in-4
  • Certifications required: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (The CARE course accepted if others are expired)
  • Call shifts typically range from 12-24 hours
  • 24-hour shifts are from 8:00 AM to 8:00 AM

Clinic Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday only - Closed on weekends and stats
  • Daily physician rounds: 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM
  • Clinic hours: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Travel expenses covered, include:
  • Round-trip flights (Home to YVR to Bella Coola)
  • Meal per diems on travel days
  • Housing provided at no cost

  • Licensing:

o Full or provisional license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC)
  • Mandatory Requirements:

o Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
