The Job You Will Perform: Facility Preservation EngineerGrande Prairie's Global Cellulose Fibers Mill is seeking a Facility Preservation Engineer. Reporting to the Maintenance Reliability Leader, the position is responsible to maintain and to protect Global Cellulose Fibers Mill assets to ensure reliability of the manufacturing process, the safety of personnel and the protection of environment. We are seeking a candidate with knowledge of industrial reliability improvement methods, programs, processes and technologies.
Key Functions- Designs Plans/assists, coordinates and completes facility design work requests
- Comply with all safety standards and meet all legal requirements
- Comply with all engineering standards
- Provide technical support for engineering projects
- Ensure control documents are current and available. Familiar with isometrics and process flow diagrams.
- Ensure that mechanical standards (rotating equipment, piping, pressure vessels, and tanks are current and available.
- Assist with ensuring regulatory applications and standards are satisfied.
- Ensure Mill performance meets GCF Policies, procedures, specifications and GCF's Global Manufacturing Systems standards and ABSA compliance.
- Provide coaching/mentoring of junior engineers
- Provide oversight and collaboration with area maintenance and operations teams on tanks, pressure vessels and pressure relief valves; steel and painting; roofs, buildings and concrete; elevated platforms, stairs and ladders; HVAC and building ventilation; piping and pipe bridges; insulation; equipment bases; cranes and lifting devices; housekeeping; sewers and underground pipes; asbestos abatement; roads and railroads; fire protection; fencing, demolition, dikes and levees, stacks and chimneys; and cooling towers
- Learn the Capital Budget Process to be able to assist the Capital Project Engineers with the development and installation of projects
- Mentor less experienced engineering technical graduates to assist them in their development.
- Assist EHS in the maintenance of the waste & water treatment plant and solid waste assets as requested.
- Help teammates understand the facility preservation plan and what work is required for facility preservation, including MWS, inspections, repair and document control.

The Skills You Will Bring: - B.S. or RET (PEng) in Civil Engineering
- 8-10 years' experience - industrial / manufacturing / maintenance
- Analysis, design, fabrication, installation and repair of concrete, steel, aluminum, wooden structures
- Analyze, design, install, and repair underground gravity and pressure piping for process sewers, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, water, effluent, natural gas, other process piping
- Knowledge of soil properties to allow the design, installation and/or repair of roads, railroads, foundations, levees, retaining walls, protective structures used in excavations
- Knowledge of building systems to allow the writing of specifications to replace/repair building foundations, wall systems, frames and roofs.
- Ability to use AutoCAD, finite element analysis, Provincial and National building and CSA S16 codes.
- Civil Engineering APEGA member, or ability to obtain membership within a reasonable timeline
- Experience using AutoCAD, SAP
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment.
