Full Job Description
Amentum is currently seeking a Facility Maintenance Engineer based in Forest Park, GA. This position will help support exploitation missions both CONUS (Continental United States) and OCONUS (Outside Continental United States) via deployment.

 Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for building systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure optimal functioning and longevity.
  • Diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot issues with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other building systems and infrastructure.
  • Regularly monitor and inspect building systems, such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, fire safety, lighting, elevators, and security systems, for proper functioning.
  • Ensure the facility complies with local, state, and federal regulations, including health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Plan and oversee the acquisition, installation, and upgrading of equipment needed to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and service providers for specialized maintenance tasks or repairs.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations like equipment breakdowns, leaks, or outages to minimize disruptions to operations.
  • Maintain accurate logs, records, and reports of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for future reference or audits.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
  • Enforce workplace safety standards and protocols, conducting routine safety inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Identify opportunities for facility improvement projects and oversee their implementation to enhance overall functionality and aesthetics.
  • Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to align maintenance efforts with facility operations and business goals.
  • Conduct routine and ad hoc inspections of the facility to assess overall conditions and address potential issues proactively.
  • Perform all duties in challenging and austere (Outside Continental United States - OCONUS) environments, often in remote or underdeveloped locations, for extended periods of up to 6 months at a time.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Five (5) years engineering and facility maintenance experience that includes experience in heating and air conditioning, power distribution, generator maintenance, and plumbing.
  • Experience must include the following:
    • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
    • The ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and systems.
    • Development and execution of project plans, systems specifications, design requirements, and test and evaluation planning documents.
    • Conducting safety assessments and failure mitigation.
    • Conduct preventative maintenance of systems to prevent failure.
  • The above experience should demonstrate the ability to interface with senior members of DoW organizations to develop and support technical positions, to justify technical recommendations, and to write technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to obtain a DoW Top Secret security clearance. (Please note: US citizenship is required to obtain a US Top Secret security clearance).
  • Must be able to obtain a US passport.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a medical assessment per customer requirements.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in an engineering field from an accredited university is desired.
  • Experience with mobile shelter design and implementation is highly desired.
  • Current Secret or Top Secret DoW clearance preferred

Compensation Details:

$85k-$115k
