Facilities Technician - 2nd Shift

Department: Manufacturing

Location: Redondo Beach

Compensation: $35.00 - $55.00 / hour

Description

As a Facilities Technician - 2nd Shift at Impulse, you will support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of our manufacturing and office facilities. You will perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of facility infrastructure, utilities, and building systems while responding to facility issues and supporting ongoing facility projects.

The role requires a mechanically and electrically capable technician who can troubleshoot problems independently, prioritize work, and maintain reliable facility operations in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to facility service requests and prioritize work based on safety, operational impact, and urgency
  • Work independently during second shift while coordinating with day-shift Facilities personnel, vendors, contractors, and on-call resources as needed
  • Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on facility systems and equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and other building infrastructure issues
  • Monitor facility systems and respond to alarms, equipment failures, leaks, utility issues, and other operational needs
  • Support operation and maintenance of HVAC, exhaust systems, pumps, compressed air, industrial utilities, and other facility infrastructure
  • Support facility upgrades, equipment installations, remodels, and expansion projects in coordination with the 1st Shift Facilities team
  • Identify abnormal operating conditions and escalate significant safety, equipment, or operational issues
  • Maintain accurate work orders, maintenance records, and documentation within the company's JIRA & CMMS system


Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on facilities, industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or related experience
  • Working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and building systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, one-line diagrams, equipment manuals, and construction drawings


Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or other relevant trade certification or license
  • Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, laboratory, cleanroom, or other high-tech environments
  • Experience with 120/208V and 277/480V electrical systems, BAS, generators, & emergency power
  • Experience with industrial utilities, compressed gases, cryogenic systems, pumps, or similar facility infrastructure
  • Experience using JIRA & CMMS softwares
  • Basic plumbing, fabrication, or other skilled-trade experience

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
