Facilities Supervisor is a Non-Represented Professional/Supervisory classification, responsible for the supervision of the cleaning and maintenance of all City facilities. City facility sites include: City Hall, Public Library, Code Compliance/Animal Services, Corporate Public Works Yard, the Police Station, and any other City owned buildings that may be deemed necessary. The incumbent ensures that buildings, offices and publicly accessible areas are a clean, sanitary and professional setting for the public and employees, as well as maintaining air conditioning, heating and lighting systems in optimal working condition. The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for formulating and developing assigned unit goals, managing budgets and meeting objectives as related to division goals.

Typical QualificationsAny combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for a Facilities Supervisor. A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess the equivalent of five (5) years of directly related experience in the following areas: custodial, facility operation and maintenance with at least two (2) years' experience in a lead or supervisory capacity; and a High School diploma or GED supplemented by continuing education course work in facility maintenance and operation and supervision or related subjects. Associate degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Building Operations, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is desirable.
License/Certificate: - Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class "C" California driver's license.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, an OSHA-30 Certificate within one (1) year of employment.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain a Project Management Certificate within eighteen (18) months of employment approved by the City.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, forklift certification within one (1) year of employment.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, aerial certification for boom truck and scissor lift within one (1) year of employment.
Other Requirements:
- This position will be required to work outside the traditional work schedule for scheduled afterhours work with vendors as needed.
- This position will be required to participate in the Adjusted Workweek Schedule.
- This position may be required to participate in the City's After-Hours On-Call Program.
- This position has been identified as a (Affected Employee) position requiring safety toe footwear per the Non-Represented Employees' Compensation and Benefits Plan.
- This position may be required to work on weekend, holidays and evenings.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and automation programming of HVAC systems.
