Full Job Description
What this job involves:
As Operations Manager, you'll provide operational leadership and effective daily administration of the engineering team with the objectives of safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively operating machinery and systems while achieving maximum uptime. You'll be responsible for protecting and improving the value of the client's assets and ensuring that building engineering systems continue to perform their intended function through implementation and management of reliability-based maintenance programs. You'll execute equipment inspection and monitoring programs, define and implement maintenance best practices to improve overall mechanical equipment uptime, and continuously evaluate current maintenance, operations, and reliability methods to enhance effectiveness and maximize performance. This position combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, requiring you to build strong client relationships, ensure the highest level of professionalism, and foster a culture of safety and excellence across the engineering team.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Supervise and manage engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, personal development, and instilling professionalism across the team
  • Oversee parts and procurement to ensure adequate inventory of tools and supplies through purchase orders, vendor relationships, and periodic inventory checks
  • Monitor and maintain refrigeration, cooling, HVAC equipment, boilers, pumps, valves, piping, and other mechanical and electrical systems while overseeing repair and preventive maintenance programs
  • Oversee contractor activities and ensure the Critical Facility Work Authorization (CFWA) process is well-understood among staff and contractors
  • Identify safety hazards, implement remediation measures, administer safety training programs, and ensure compliance with all regulatory laws and guidelines
  • Maintain all infrastructure and compliance documentation including building drawings, single-lines, and records mandated for regulatory compliance
  • Build relationships between the client and JLL team to foster trust and partnership while providing direction per the Incident Escalation Process
  • Provide training and support to expand operations staff capabilities through hands-on instruction, proper tool use demonstration, and recommending external engineering courses


Required qualifications:
  • 7+ years of facility-related work experience including customer service, leadership, and supervisory experience in a managerial capacity
  • Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance processes with understanding of construction planning and execution
  • Exposure to HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, welding, and electrical systems engineering and operation
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office and CMMS systems
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with proven record of excellent internal and external customer service


Preferred qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in an Engineering or similar discipline
  • Universal Technician certification for CFC's or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
  • Operating Engineers license (SMA) or equivalent
