Full Job Description
In support of the Sikorsky Line of Business and the Connecticut Facilities Office Design and Real Estate organization, provide architectural and interior design expertise for Office rearrangements, alterations, renovations, and new construction across four Connecticut sites, encompassing 3 million square feet. Primary Responsibilities: • Provide architectural and aesthetic design guidance, harmonizing industry and workplace trends with Sikorsky and Lockheed Martin interior standards. • Manage teams of Design Consultants to develop permit drawings for submission to the local Authorities Having Jurisdiction. • Coordinate and oversee the bidding and procurement processes for design efforts in collaboration with established consulting firms. • Provide technical guidance and support to various Sikorsky entities on facilities design, with potential travel as required. • Collaborate closely with the Environment, Safety, and Health (ESH) organization to support initiatives and programs, including Go Green energy reduction projects. • Perform a variety of activities in support of Connecticut Facilities, as well as Facilities-related planning and coordination. Basic Qualifications • 5+ years of experience with an Associates' degree or higher in Architectural, Interior Design, or a closely related field design oversight and planning participation for small to large scale interior renovations and construction projects for corporate, health care, or educational campuses. • Experience developing designs for construction and interior alterations for new and renovated buildings. Desired skills • Strong knowledge of Architectural and Interior Design, as well as the LEED certification process. • Experience developing space optimization and utilization strategies • Experience managing oversight and/or preparation of drawings and specifications for relatively complex projects making appropriate recommendations and design development decisions. • Strong knowledge of Building Design Disciplines • Experience in project design, specification preparation and review, project scheduling, and some project cost estimating. • Experience with furniture systems, modular construction, and other Architectural solutions • Knowledge of building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, energy conservation and fire protection. • Experience reviewing and ensuring application of proper building codes in project designs. • Experience in the bidding and review process • Ability to communicate and coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure designs meet criteria for scope intent, quality, budget, and schedule Experience with employee and department moves within campus buildings or between facilities • Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present to internal and external customers and Senior Leaders • Team player willing to work in a creative, fast paced atmosphere. • Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities. • Effective presentation skills, both written and verbal. • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Project, Word, Power Point, and Excel. • Experience in the implementation of the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification process • Experience in leading projects, as well as the proven ability to work effectively within a team environment • Possess strong adaptability skills including the ability to handle multiple tasks • Professional License registration preferred • Management of bidding and procurement of all design requirements in support of assigned projects. • Participation in Environmental, Safety, & Health activities including Safety and Contractor Review Board, PHRA, HRA and PHA initiatives, Facilities Annual Plan, etc. • Participation in Six Sigma initiatives including training, 3P and VSM events, QCPC, etc. • Provide technical assistance to various Sikorsky entities in need of guidance related to Architectural or Interior design for factory and office planning (travel may be required) • Collaborate with Sikorsky's Security and Fire Personnel to provide guidance for the application of Building and Fire Code • Work closely with Energy Manager to provide support for Go Green and other Sustainability initiatives. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $95,000 - $167,440. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $109,200 - $189,290.
