Facilities Controls Engineer (Experienced or Senior)

Position Responsibilities:

  • Administer, troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize Building Automation Systems (BAS), including hardware, servers, software, networks, controllers, sensors, and associated devices
  • Configure, program, calibrate, test, and commission controllers, sensors, graphics, sequences of operation, and control logic to optimize building performance, reliability, and energy efficiency
  • Diagnose and resolve building-wide environmental control issues involving temperature, humidity, pressure, airflow, indoor air quality (IAQ), noise, lighting controls, and industrial environmental control systems. Perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions and long-term solutions
  • Install, validate, and communicate firmware and software updates while maintaining accurate documentation of system modifications, enhancements, and configurations
  • Monitor system performance, develop standard and ad hoc reports, and identify opportunities to improve system reliability, operational efficiency, and integration across facility infrastructure
  • Plan, specify, and support system upgrades, equipment improvements, preventive maintenance strategies, and the commissioning of new building automation assets
  • Translate customer and operational requirements into technical solutions, including design options, engineering documentation, cost estimates, and contract scope support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, operations, maintenance, and project teams to identify and implement technology enhancements and integration opportunities
  • Ensure all systems and engineering solutions support safety, maintainability, reliability, ergonomics, and applicable regulatory and company requirements
  • Provide Building Automation System software and user training to maintenance and skilled trades personnel as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • Bachelor's of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in data science, machine learning, applied statistics, mathematics, computer science or engineering
  • 5+ years of experience with assembling, repairing and / or testing mechanical and electrical components and systems
  • 3+ years of experience working in a facilities engineering role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • 3+ years of experience with computerized Building Automation Systems (BAS) (i.e. Trane, Honeywell and/or Johnson Controls Metasys)
  • 3+ years of experience supporting building environmental controls


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Degree in the following disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Robotics Engineering
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience with PLC (programmable logic control) hardware
  • 5+ years of experience with equipment reliability or machine troubleshooting
  • 5+ years of experience supporting building lighting controls
  • 5+ years of experience supporting building environmental controls
  • 5+ years of experience modifying computer programs
  • Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD and Revit software

Summary Pay Range for Senior Level: $135,150 - $182,850
