Job Description:

Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is seeking a qualified Facilities and Safety Manager to serve as a Key Personnel position in support of the Government Contract onsite at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. This individual will be responsible for facility management, safety program oversight, quality assurance, and security support functions essential to the performance of the contract.

The Facilities and Safety Manager supports upkeep, upgrade, maintenance, and facility management of the Kirtland Spacecraft Integration Facility and ensures compliance with all applicable Air Force Instructions (AFIs), federal regulations, installation-specific requirements, and quality management standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee fuel tank operations, chemical hygiene, hazard communication, and unit safety programs in accordance with applicable Air Force Instructions and federal regulations.
  • Manage alarm systems and GSA security containers in accordance with installation and federal requirements.
  • Prepare status reports, manage government property, identify hazardous conditions, and ensure compliance with all applicable security and access requirements.
  • Lead safety training, enforce PPE requirements, and ensure ongoing compliance with OSHA standards and applicable AFIs.


  • Support quality assurance activities including audits, SOPs, inspection checklists, and process improvement initiatives.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science or a related technical field (equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Facilities Management or Safety Program Management within a DoD or government contractor environment is required, with 10 or more years strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of applicable Air Force Instructions, including AFI 90-821, AFI 91-202, and 29 CFR [redacted].
  • Experience managing HAZCOM programs, chemical hygiene plans, and safety inspections.
  • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and meet all installation access requirements at Kirtland AFB.
  • Must be able to identify themselves as contractor personnel in all communications, on identification badges, and in workspaces located on Government installations.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Active Top-Secret clearance.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience at Kirtland AFB or other AFRL facilities.
  • Experience as a GSA Security Container Custodian or Alarm Custodian.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or equivalent certification.
  • Experience supporting spacecraft integration, assembly, or test facilities.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management standards in a government or defense contracting environment.


US citizenship is required

Salary range is $64,083-$150K DOE
