Full Job Description
Department: Intensive Care Unit

Shift: Days

Daily Work Times: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Scheduled Biweekly Hours: 80

Position Summary:

Responsible for overseeing the day to day operational oversight of the ECMO Program, including but not limited staffing, scheduling and resource allocation for ECMO Specialists and team members. Works closely with other members of the team to achieve exceptional patient outcomes. Directs patient care through performance and/or leadership of subordinate personnel. Assists in the coordination of patient care through the appropriate utilization of all resources: staff, equipment, supplies, etc. As an expert in the assigned specialty, is a resource person to both medical center staff and physicians.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the McLaren Health Care/Affiliate Vision, Mission, and Values.
  2. Demonstrates leadership role through clinical practice, supervision, teaching, and research.
  3. Collaborates closely with ECMO Medical Director, physicians, perfusionists, nurses and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate ECMO initiation, management, weaning and decannulation.


Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in relevant field
  • Licensed/Certification/Registration as a Registered Nurse to practice nursing in Michigan, Respiratory Therapist or Perfusionist
  • Possess minimum of 2 years related experience
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated leadership performance
  • Demonstrated experience in team building skills, self-directed work teams
  • ACLS and BLS


Preferred:

  • Experience working in Critical Care
