Role Overview
As an Experimental CNC Machinist, you will set up, operate, and maintain CNC machining centers to produce precision parts to engineering specifications. You will interpret technical drawings, verify machining programs, inspect finished components, and support continuous improvement of machining processes.

This role supports second shift production operations in a high-precision manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Set up and operate horizontal and vertical CNC machining centers
• Machine parts using drilling, milling, boring, tapping, and related operations
• Interpret CAD data, blueprints, sketches, and operation sheets to guide machining work
• Verify and monitor NC (G-code) programs during machine operation
• Select, install, and adjust cutting tools and machine setups as needed
• Inspect parts during and after machining using precision measurement tools
• Perform secondary operations such as deburring and straightening during machine cycles
• Maintain coolant levels and perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment
• Provide feedback to manufacturing engineers to improve tooling, fixturing, and processes
• Track machining performance and communicate production targets during shift operations
• Support flexible scheduling including overtime, weekends, and alternate shifts

• Located in King of Prussia, PA
• Second shift schedule (2:30 PM - 12:00 AM) on a 9x80 rotation
• Production operations environment focused on precision aerospace manufacturing
• Hands-on machining work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven setting
• Close collaboration with manufacturing engineers and production teams

Basic Qualifications

To be considered, candidates must meet all requirements listed:
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD data, and technical drawings
• Experience setting up and operating CNC machining equipment or machining centers
• Understanding of G&M code used in CNC machining
• Ability to use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gages, etc.) to inspect parts
• Ability to work second shift (2:30 PM - 12:00 AM) on a 9x80 schedule, including overtime, rotating Fridays off, and weekend work as needed
• Ability to work in a production environment with varying shift requirements and schedule flexibility
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Desired skills

Nice-to-have skills that strengthen candidacy but are not required:
• Experience with either DMG (CELOS) or Siemens 840D control systems
• Experience with Mazatrol CNC controls
• Familiarity with Mastercam or NX software

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $56,600 - $99,705. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement
