  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support executive decisions.

Job Summary:

The Experienced Senior, Outsourced Finance & Accounting Associate is responsible for performing and overseeing the full cycle general accounting function for Government Contracting clients.

Job Duties:
• Understands and works on all accounting functions, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, cash management, indirect rate calculation, and GovCon project accounting
• Assists with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and prepares GAAP-compliant financial statements
• Supports accurate revenue recognition, contract accounting, and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GovCon regulations
• Ensures compliance with FAR, CAS, DCAA, and federal contracting regulations while maintaining a DCAA-compliant accounting system
• Assists with indirect cost structures, provisional billing rates, and forward pricing support
• Assists with project setup, funding, labor charging, contract modifications, invoicing, cost allocations, profitability, and project closeout
• Monitors contract funding, financial performance, and project costs to ensure contract compliance and profitability
• Assists with budgeting, forecasting, indirect rate planning, and financial analysis to support executive decision-making and operational improvements

Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Serves as a member of the client's consulting group team
• Provides guidance and support to Associates, as assigned
• Reviews work prepared by Associates, as assigned
• Assists in training Associates on how to use current software tools and GovCon methodology

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, required

Experience
• Three (3) or more years of progressive accounting experience in a government contracting environment, required

License(s)/Certification(s)
• CPA or CPA candidate, preferred

Software
• Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word, required
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, required
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, PROCAS, and other government contractor ERP systems, preferred

Language(s)
• N/A

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, FAR, CAS, DCAA requirements, government contract accounting, and indirect rates required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically business / report writing
• Strong analytical and basic research skills
• Solid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
• Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to follow and apply specific rules and regulations
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $80,000 - $100,000
Maryland Range: $80,000 - $100,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $80,000 - $100,000
