Position : Joint/Multinational Experiment Planner

Location : U.S. Army Joint Modernization Command, Fort Bliss, TX

Position Description : Serves as an experiment planner in the US Army Joint Modernization Command (JMC) G3 Plans Division. Responsible to the Chief of Plans and experiment-specific Lead Planner (Government) to assist in coordinating, scheduling and synchronizing all experiment related planning activities, experiment training support requirements, assessments, and operations. More specifically, the individual performs the following tasks as directed by the G3, Chief of Plans:

Assist the JMC Lead Planner in developing a comprehensive plan and strategy for the internal and external integration planning and coordination actions/activities required to support experiment planning. Provides sound, mature advice and recommendations to the Lead Planner for effective orchestration of events and activities to support experiment planning. Assists the Lead Planner with managing ongoing actions, status, prioritizing planning actions and provides comprehensive status briefs to division chief or G3 in the absence of the Lad Planner. Assists the Lead Planner with staffing, receipt, review, tracking and approval of all experiment related taskings, products and documents. Provide design and maintenance of various data collections and instrumentation networks.

Assists the Lead Planner with developing and managing and experiment support requirements, timelines to support experiment planning (as an example identify key events and dates, planning conferences and IPRs). In conjunction with the Lead Planner represents JMC at planning and resource meetings ensuring ranges, training and maneuver areas, simulation facilities are reserved and can adequately support experiment requirements.

In support of the Lead Planner, monitors progress of work and reports status works actions through to completion. Ensures event resourcing is coordinated and suspense's are meet during the planning process; as an example, orders, annexes, range and ammunition forecasting, airspace, spectrum and other training support requirements with external agencies to resource training and test events. Provides analysis of all proposed systems for capability and its proper integration into the network architecture.

Specific knowledge, skills, and experience include:

• Competence in executing the Army's Military Decision Making Process (MDMP)

• Experience in planning and executing large-scale combat operations, exercises, or experiments at brigade-level and above
• Experience with planning large-scale, Live-Virtual-Constructive training experiments
• Experience in planning and executing Joint/Multinational experiments or combat operations
• Experience facilitating, briefing, and presenting analytical results (written or orally) to senior leadership (Army, other Service, and Joint)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Clearance : Current SECRET clearance

General requirements:

• Bachelor's degree
• Army Brigade or Division-level staff experience
• Service as a maneuver Battalion or Brigade Operations Officer (S3) or Executive Officer (XO)

Desired : Master's degree

• Army Command and Staff College Graduate
• Experience serving in Joint/Multinational operations
• Service as a Battalion or Brigade Operations Officer (S3) or Executive Officer (XO)
• Observer/Controller at U.S. Army Combat Training Center

Travel: Approximately 20% a year both CONUS and OCONUS
