Overview

Are you a proven and passionate leader with a desire to serve others? Can you get excited about an opportunity to lead a team focused on enhancing the quality of life and holistic growth of older adults? Are you up for advancing an already successful, 120-acre elder care community located in Franklin, Indiana?

Otterbein SeniorLife is a vibrant, faith-based, not-for-profit ministry serving older adults. We have an opening for an Executive Director whose role is to spearhead the delivery of high quality services in a person-centered environment. As a licensed nursing home administrator in Indiana, you will accomplish this through directing the day-to day operations of the community, leading the short term and long term planning and creating a culture of resident enthusiasm and employee engagement.

Scope of the Otterbein Franklin community:
  • 230+ Independent Living and Assisted Living Apartments and Homes
  • 44,000 square feet of Long Term Nursing capacity
  • 20,000 square feet of Post-Acute Rehabilitation capacity

  • Brookside gated community of 120+ custom homes and neighborhood amenities

Overall Responsibilities
  • Develop, present and administer the community's annual business, operating and capital budget plans.
  • Oversee and competently staff the functional areas of the operation in order to ensure the delivery of services to our residents.
  • Develop, monitor and report operational information and quality indicators used to evaluate outcomes and develop quality improvement plans with the team.
  • Create and manage systems for communicating with residents and staff on important issues including the resolution of concerns.
  • Ensure that operations are in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations and Otterbein policies and procedures.
  • Select, supervise, coach, develop and retains a high caliber of staff.
  • Develop and nurture a strong working relationship with the campus local board of directors.
  • Build effective relationships in the communities served that result in a highly positive reputation of the ministry, its people and the services provided.
  • Participate in corporate teams to share best practices and work assignments related to ministry-wide operations.

Qualifications
  • A mission-driven passion for serving older adults
  • Understand how to place decision-making in the hands of older adults whenever possible and appropriate.
  • Make prompt and accurate judgments with regard to care and emergencies
  • Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with persons who are ill, disabled, elderly, and/or emotionally upset.
  • Excellent literacy, writing, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership skills as evidenced in work history references.

Education and Work History
  • Education: Bachelor's in Health/Long-Term Administration, Business, Gerontology, or related field, preferred. Master's degree is a plus
  • Licensure/Certification: Have current Indiana HFA license
  • Experience: At least 5 years of Long Term Care Administrator experience required
