Position Description

Summary of Position

The ideal candidate will use a strategic mindset to drive the future success of the foundation. With responsibility for all program areas, this candidate will execute the areas of need for the organization which include fiscal, program development and sponsor relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and establish policies and objectives of the organization by board directives and corporation charter.
  • Develop and formalize the vision and intent of the foundation.
  • Create annual strategic organizational plan and budgetary goals.
  • Review submitted proposals, providing recommendations of grants and projects to the Board for approval.
  • Create grant agreements.
  • Ensure all organizational records are maintained according to law and are available upon request by authorized board members.
  • Ensure that the grantees complete reporting and submit within the timeline given.
  • Manage general communications of the board of directors and executive management staff.
  • Works with other charities to obtain monetary donations.
  • Produce annual reports and send them to donors.
  • Oversee fundraising projects.
  • Represent the Foundation at community events and participate in community engagement committees.
  • Obtain new revenue funds for the foundation through the acquisition of gifts, donations, and grants.
  • Develop organization-wide marketing strategies and campaigns to drive volume, cultivate donor base, and advocacy efforts.
  • Build a culture of giving and social impact amongst internal stakeholders.
  • Build a brand for the foundation that properly represents the values of the Foundation.
  • Plans and develop programs and events designed to enhance charitable giving.
  • Serves as liaison with various outside agencies to raise funds for the foundation.


Legal Compliance Responsibilities

  • Oversee all reporting necessary for 990 PF to an external accountant.
  • Ensure charitable licensing is maintained.
  • Ensure bylaws and their articles of incorporation are maintained.
  • Ensure accuracy and records are up-to-date in regard to membership, board minutes, financial reports, and other important documents.
  • Consistently review financial statements to ensure all grants are properly distributed.
  • Schedule and attend Quarterly Executive Committee Meetings and two Board of Directors meetings each year.
