THE POSITION:

At EVERSANA, our Global Medical Affairs & Medical Information teams play a pivotal role in supporting some of the most scientifically advanced and emerging biopharmaceutical organizations around the world to deliver innovative therapies across all therapeutic areas, including oncology, hematology, rare disease, immunology, neurology, cardiology, etc. Through our fully integrated commercialization and medical support model, we partner with clients across the product lifecycle to deliver meaningful, patient- and healthcare professional-centered solutions.

The Executive Director, Global Medical Affairs is a high-impact senior leader reporting to the EVP, Global Medical Affairs & Information. This individual will play a critical role in shaping and advancing EVERSANA's position as a forward-looking thought leader and trusted partner in Global Medical Affairs strategy, innovation, and operational excellence / execution across a diverse and growing client portfolio.

This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, driving the development and delivery of scalable, high-impact, and technology-enabled Medical Affairs solutions that address evolving client needs. The Executive Director will be responsible contributing to overall Global Medical Affairs strategy regarding our services and thought leadership; will lead Global Medical Affairs strategic operations and be responsible for operational efficiency and results driven execution of services; manage, lead and develop the Global Medical Affairs team; and be responsible managing Global Medical Affairs P&L.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Execution & Program Leadership
  • Lead and support the execution of Global Medical Affairs Excellence & Strategy initiatives across multiple clients and engagements
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, structured programs, and measurable outcomes
  • Drive enterprise-level and cross-functional initiatives with strong project management rigor and accountability for results
  • Contribute to the evolution of innovative and scalable Medical Affairs operating models

Operational Excellence
  • Drive operational excellence, efficiency, and scalability across Medical Affairs programs and delivery models
  • Identify and implement opportunities to modernize workflows, tools, and processes, including digital and data-driven enhancements
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics to ensure consistent, high-quality execution and continuous improvement
  • Establish and own development and maintenance of applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Working Instructions, Training, etc.

Client Management, Leadership & Delivery
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to clients, including Global Medical Affairs leadership
  • A applicable, function as Overseeing Director and / or Client Manager for assigned projects
  • Deliver strategic and operational guidance across the full spectrum of Medical Affairs functions
  • Ensure client delight and that service are both value- and quality-driven

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partners across EVERSANA business units (Medical Information, Value & Evidence, Medical Communications, Agency, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory, Quality, Field Medical, Patient Services, etc.) to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions
  • Contribute to holistic commercialization and medical strategies spanning the product lifecycle
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, modeling inclusive leadership and behaviors
  • Be able to work within a matrix environment and drive results through others

Thought Leadership
  • Develop and execute thought leadership strategy for Global Medical Affairs
  • Develop the annual plan and collaborate with the team to develop and execute on the deliverables that drive new business opportunities
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, trends, applicable laws / regulations, etc. that have an impact on Global Medical Affairs and our service offerings
  • Represent EVERSANA and the Medical Affairs team at professional meetings and associations

Financial Performance
  • Support business development through RFPs, proposals, and client presentations, contributing to growth and expansion opportunities
  • Develop and own the Medical Affairs capabilities presentations and technology offerings / demos
  • Ensure the timely review and execution of Global Medical Affairs SOWs and contracts, including follow-up for renewals
  • Develop strategic ways to drive new business opportunities via networking, professional associations, thought leadership
  • Own the P&L for Medical Affairs services, ensuring financial goals are meet and contributing to monthly and quarterly financial planning

Team Leadership / Development
  • Establish, lead, and develop growing Global Medical Affairs team across various services
  • Establish processes, procedures, and training that ensure efficient and effective onboarding of both FTEs and contractor / contingent workers / consultants
  • Build an operationally and cost-efficient global staffing model that ensures effective operational delivery of services based on client requirements and financial goals
  • Establish collaborative relationship with staff agency partners and grow network of independent consultants
  • Identify staffing needs and ensure timely development of applicable job descriptions and job requisitions
  • Ensure results-orientated and results-driven delivery of services via effective management of Global Medical Team, leveraging both FTEs and contractor / contingent workers / consultants as applicable
