Position Details

The Future Systems and Processes (FSP) program is a multi-year initiative to modernize the university's finance, human resource, and student information processes and systems (ERP/SIS). Our goal is to facilitate the adoption and successful implementation of a next-generation platform and related streamlined processes and policies for long-term operational excellence to best support the needs and aspirations of our diverse community.

Reporting to the Associate Vice President (Information Technology) and working in close partnership with the Academic Lead, the Executive Director (FSP Administrative Lead) will play a key executive-level leadership role in supporting the University community - all employees and all students - through this significant change to ensure program success.

Their work will be supported by the guidance and authority of the FSP Program Steering Committee, including the Executive Leads of the key functional units, and will involve extensive collaboration with the executive sponsors, subject matter experts, change facilitators and program manager. In addition, they will act as a bridge between functional/technical teams, university academic and administrative units, executive leadership and vendor partners to deliver a solution that enhances institutional efficiency and supports the University's long-term vision.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a cross-functional team; ensuring alignment with institutional strategic plans; overseeing and ensuring organizational change facilitation; defining and prioritizing project scope, setting and managing goals and success criteria; ensuring transparency and accountability via progress reports to project teams and community; mitigating multiple project risks; overseeing and ensuring effective and timely project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, execution, and budget control; monitoring data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance; and engaging with university and vendor communities to advance the program's objectives.

The University of Lethbridge is undertaking a job classification and compensation review for Non-Academic Senior Administrative positions. As such, the salary range currently assigned for this position may be adjusted as a result of this project.

Position Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field.

Preferred: Master's degree or relevant professional designations (e.g. PMP, Change Management certification).

Experience:
7-10 years leading large teams and successful institution-wide change initiatives, such as policy and/or process implementations.

Preferred: 10+ years of executive level leadership in higher education, leading broad, multi-faceted teams; experience with successfully leading large-scale institution- or system-wide change initiatives and/or ERP implementation.

Job-Specific Knowledge and Technical Skills:
  • Program leadership, budget management, vendor relations, and change management skills;
  • Communication strategy experience;
  • Strategic planning experience and skills;
  • Communication and negotiation skills;
  • Financial management experience

Preferred:
  • Experience with leading large complex teams and projects/services , university systems, vendor management, and executive-level leadership and reporting;
  • Change management and change leadership strategy development and execution;
  • Communication strategy development and execution;
  • Negotiation and presentation skills;
  • Experience influencing diverse stakeholders; successfully resolving conflict;
  • Exemplary listening skills and demonstrated ability to navigate diverse interests and objectives among stakeholders

Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$137,218 - $172,261 annually

Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$137,218 - $207,303 annually (Executive Director 2)
